Any thoughts? I suspect some 3rd party disk utility is messing with the file (eg some defrag app, backup app, or the like). Obviously this software has never worked. This only reports, it does not change > anything.
What's New? Been there, done that...and once was enough (actually had to do that 3 different times before they replaced the hard drive!!) Now, all is corrupt. I was able to uninstall Adobe Reader 8.1.0 by first going in and changing the name of ADOBE directory under program files, but i still cannot delete the ADOBE directory directly. I was able to get chkdsk to run by tapping F8 for the alternate startup modes, selecting repair computer, then running the first choice, "fix startup problems" or something like that.
